New Linux Mint minicomputer in the works. Very useful little device.

There is a new mini-pc in the works, this is a diminutive fanless computer that runs Linux Mint and is perfect as a hidden computer in the living room. This computer has impressive specifications for the size.

  • Intel Core i5 CPU.
  • Intel HD integrated graphics.
  • 4 Gigabytes of RAM.
  • 500 Gigabyte HDD.
  • Dual-Gigabit Ethernet ports.

The price of $599.00 is pretty reasonable as well; this will compete well with the Rasberry Pi and Arduino mini computers as useful devices to take with you on the move. This would be a lot cheaper than a Mac Mini computer. There is one of those for AU$649.00 at kogan.com, that is pretty reasonable; but the Mintbox beats that price with similar specifications. The Macintosh Mini is quite heavy for the size, with pretty effective specifications for watching movies and browsing the Internet. But the Mintbox is running the free Linux Mint distribution and this means that this would be a better desktop alternative to the expensive Macintosh hardware. And since it comes with a box, it is better than the Rasberry Pi if you want a ready to go mini-computer.
