Nice FPS trick for Arma 3 in 2021
To help fix FPS issues in Arma 3 in 2021, use this simple trick. Create a shortcut to the Steam executable, right-click the shortcut and click Properties. And then add this to the end of the Steam path.
-no-browser +open steam://open/minigameslist |
Then it should look like this.
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steam.exe" -no-browser +open steam://open/minigameslist |
This will open a super minimal version of Steam that will still launch games but will not have the embedded Chromium browser running. This really should help with FPS.
The browser constantly running in the background whilst playing is not the best, even if the Steam client is minimized it still runs. But turning it off reduces the load on system resources and this will help performance in your favourite games. And you need every bit of CPU and GPU power to run AAA games like Arma 3. But this trick will work just fine. Just run it normally if you wish to use the community features.
