Stalker 2 map design should take inspiration from the old beta maps.

Stalker 2 needs to bring back the beta design maps to the new game.

The design of new map(s) in S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 should be inspired by the old beta maps in my opinion. Like Dark Valley in Oblivion Lost remake. That captures quite a nice atmosphere. Just a typical industrial area overcome by the zone that is host to numerous anomalies and mutants. Also the entrance to Lab X-18 is here. Build Garbage is larger and has a railway bisecting the map with a bridge. That map has huge piles of rubbish and dirt that are highly radioactive, but have many artifacts on and around them. So a lot of money can be made if you are brave enough to get up there. Hopefully the new game will have a good atmosphere like this. The level of interaction with the environment is quite amazing, smashing boxes, pushing furniture, pushing over tables, it is amazing. And the Rostok map is a copy of the industrial area in Kiev where the Stalker developers had their offices. So there are a lot of expectations riding on the new game.

It had better deliver on what it promises. Apparently the soundtrack is already done, and it will have cooperative gameplay. So it would be interesting to work together to do a mission. If there is an attack after one player gets and object for example, the others could snipe them. Or work together to find artifacts. Narodnaya Solyanka Cumalative Pack 2.1 has many nice features, the amazing new artifacts and anomalies like fountains of white stuff, or the varied anomalies that splatter unfortunate mutants into a cloud of red mist. That makes the zone very dangerous unless you are careful where you are walking. That can lead you to get splattered as well. Especially if you are hunting for artifacts and you wander too close to a Whirligig. Then you are dead. Unless you start running, you can get through it and escape. That is one way to get an artifact if the player presses F very quickly on the way through. Why not have a long broomhandle with a metal claw made of strong wire on the end to pick up artifacts safely? That is better than losing a massive amount of health.

Something like this would be very nice, make it all out of strong metal to be more durable and survive thermal anomalies. Then the Stalker would be safer, also paint it matte black to get some camouflage when hiding from military and bandits. It is a very good idea. Sometimes a stalker can throw a grenade to the far side of the artifact and then blast it back towards them. That is good for retrieving artifacts from electro anomalies. The tunnel under the railway bridge in Stalker Shadow of Chernobyl has a few electro artifacts after 12:00 AM. This means that you can get infinite sprint in the very start of the game. This is how you are intended to get past the embankment and continue the game. The build version of Cordon also has a tunnel, in Lost Alpha it has a huge underground area. This makes it quite fun to explore. In the ending of Call of Pripyat, it is said that the zone has become a tourist mecca. This provides the possibility of missions involving the rescue of tourists that have been captured by Bandits or have been trapped somewhere and need to be lead out.

There is quite a scope for new anomalies in a new game engine, but I hope it has the same feel as Oblivion Lost or Shadow of Chernobyl. And I want to see the Snorks and Bloodsuckers come back. Yanov may be free of mutants, but more could be elsewhere. Especially in the underground areas like Pripyat underground, that has a lot of Snorks. I want to see the zone as it is a few years after the ending of the previous games and what happened once it became safer for visitors. They can still get themselves into danger and need help. A new stalker game with a lot of side missions from NPC`s would be very nice. Even if it did not have a massive storyline as long as Narodnaya Solyanka does. NS OP 2.1 can take years to finish, but you can just do the main Shadow of Chernobyl storyline and ignore the rest, but this means missing out on getting great gear early. Like the Wolf razor quest that nets you a broomhandle Mauser and a hammer. Talk to the army colonel at the bridge and you can get a knife to kill a Bloodsucker with. Then you can keep it.

I do wonder who you play as, some new stalker in the zone who ends up in a huge adventure? That would be incredible. I hope the new game is as moddable as the original game. We got mega mods like Call of Chernobyl and Narodnaya Solyanka for Shadow of Chernobyl, so the new game should be just as popular with all of the modders. As well as Life of Boris Cheeki Breeki fans. People on /sg/ are wanting this new game, since Call of Chernobyl is dead and stuck at 1.5r6. That is a real shame, but NS OP 2.1 is better anyway. it hardly ever crashes, and while it is very hard, it is fun to play and there are so many weapons available.
