NVIDIA not working well on Wayland. This needs to be fixed.

A very old computer and a CD drive from 1999 in a computer gaming magazine.

The NVIDIA Settings application will not work on Gnome Shell with Wayland. This must be fixed. I mean why have an NVIDIA card on Ubuntu if you can not control it with the settings application? This is very strange, Wayland not supporting the control of a GPU. Even the shell script to set the fan speed would not work at all. If Wayland is to really take off, NVIDIA needs to supply a proper settings application for Wayland as well as X11. I get the errors shown below.

(base) ┌─jason-Lenovo-H50-55@jason⬎
└─◉ 5.1-~-12:28-⚫ ◉--[$] ☕ ./gpu_fan.sh

ERROR: Error resolving target specification 'gpu:0' (No targets match target specification), specified in assignment '[gpu:0]/GPUFanControlState=1'.

ERROR: Error resolving target specification 'fan' (No targets match target specification), specified in assignment '[fan]/GPUTargetFanSpeed=66'.

Setting the fan speed under Wayland does not work.

But I can view the current properties.

Another annoying feature of the Wayland system is flickering when a window updates and playing a Youtube video with Firefox. But it is early days yet, just need to wait and see if it is ever fixed.
