Linux user groups in India. Takeup of Linux is very strong in this country.


Linux User Groups India

There are many Linux user groups, (LUG) in India. They meetup and discuss various open-source software topics. This is a great way to meet other Linux users and learn from others.

One large Linux User Group in India is the Indian Linux Users Group. http://linux-delhi.org/. Their website hosts many tips and informative topics concerning Linux and open-source software. The Indian Linux Users Group Chennai [ILUGC] Meetup is Saturday, April 14, 2018.

There is also an Indian developed GNU/Linux distribution specifically designed for use in India. This supports Indian languages and is a great alternative to Windows on the desktop.

Another very interesting website is the Linux Chix site. This is an initiative to get more women in India involved in Linux. A very good way to help women in the workplace get comfortable with Linux server products.

The Pune GNU/Linux Users Group. Another active Linux Users Group in Pune, India. They have regular meetups that would be very interesting for new and experienced Linux users in India.

Linux Users’ Group Of Durgapur. This is a Linux education group, teaching people about Linux. They contribute to various open-source projects and teach others to become competent programmers.
