Using Midnight Commander to move files from one machine to another is very easy. The SFTP link option allows a secure FTP link to copy files over a secure SSH connection.
Use the SFTP link option as shown in the screenshot above and enter your machine name, for example, [email protected]:/home/jason, and type your password. Then the contents of the second machine will be displayed in the right pane.
Then you may copy files from one machine to another very easily. A user may even press F4 on a file and edit it remotely. This is a very useful trick for a server administrator. This is better than using SFTP on the command line. Midnight Commander makes this very easy to do. So, this is a very useful utility to add for managing a remote machine over a network.
