Matrix Resurrections movie leaked plot
The first act plays out almost exactly like the first act of the original movie; with Neo slowly waking up from his boring life and discovering who he is, but with two main differences; Trinity doesn’t know who he is, and the entire time, he’s having flashbacks and hallucinations, sometimes of scenes from the first movie, and sometimes about completely new things.
It’s revealed early on that Trinity is actually a program created by Zion to jog Neo’s memory, and nobody knows where the real Trinity is.
Once outside of the Matrix, Neo starts having hallucinations of Trinity, and at one point, he’s convinced he sees her in some ruins and insists they land the ship and investigate. He finds her, but she tells him what he already knows; that she’s not real, and to stop looking for her. He tells her he can’t do that. Back inside the matrix on an important mission, he sees her again, this time convinced she’s real, and completely abandons the mission to chase after her. After a huge, elaborate chase, he saves her from some agents, before she stabs him in the neck with a red syringe.
He wakes up in the real world, but he’s not human. He wakes up as a robot on the human-harvesting trees. Neo himself is a program. But that’s not the big twist. The big twist is *everyone* is a program. The trees are empty; there are no humans left inside the Matrix. The entire thing is nothing but programs upon programs, carrying out the same “The One” story over and over, helpless to do anything else, slaves to the system that once enslaved people, while the hardware they run on, and the world they inhabit slowly rots away out from under them. Humans are all long dead, and the Matrix is running on fumes, over a crumbling infrastructure. The only hope is to break away from it all and find a new meaning for life elsewhere. Program Neo, with his memories of human Neo, is the last surviving trace of humanity.
There’s one last huge, psychedelic, End of Evangelion style fight inside the Matrix while the entire system defends what is basically the Off Switch from Neo. He gets to it, shuts everything down, and uploads himself to a satellite that he launches into space, “resurrecting” humanity, and carrying it to its next plane of existence.
