The ads on Twitch are very annoying when you are watching a stream. Even if you are using mpv to watch a stream, you get this annoying interruption.
But if you are using uBlock Origin and frankerfacez installed, this will help. Then install this script.
https://gist.githubusercontent.com/Paralyseradko/4647a238ac7410019bfd4abd27b530ec/raw/twitch2.js.
Click uBlock Origin -> open the dashboard -> make sure “I am an advanced user” is ticked -> click the cog -> put the script linked above under userResourcesLocation. Go to Filter Lists tab -> click Purge all caches -> Update.
Clear all of the Twitch.tv related cookies from your browser, then restart your web browser.
This will help block Twitch.tv ads for now. I am sure in the future, they will come up with anti-adblock features for the website to counter the attempts to block ads. But this should help out for now. watching with MPV is still better, if the ad segments were of the same length every time, it could be possible to skip them, but it is a live stream, and this may not be possible.
But on Linux, MPV is still the best player, despite the ad interruptions, it still works just fine.
