Reddit thread discussing the abandoned Stalker 2 concepts and map.

Abandoned Stalker 2 concepts

A very nice posting, since Stalker 2 is on the way, I thought I would post a lot of information about the older Stalker builds

There is a nice thread on Reddit. This is discussing the abandoned map and concepts for the Stalker 2 game. This is the abandoned version, not the one they are working on now. But it had Lebedev`s PDA as a quest, and the room where Strelok was brainwashed was to be a task at the end of the game. You get to shut down the computer that does the programming of the stalkers. That would have been fun. There is a nice forum thread here in Russian. This has a massive amount of concept art and level design for the original Stalker game: https://www.gameru.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=32537. This image in particular, looks rather like Jupiter factory, but the rest of the map is strange. The building in the foreground looks like a cement factory. is this a concept of Yanov map? Actually it is: http://img.gameru.net/?v=241ba.jpg. Very cool to see concept artwork like this of Call of Pripyat. I hope Stalker 2 reuses these locations and we get to see how they are progressing after the events of CoP. This is another nice image, this shows the locations in Wild Territory and Rostok. Very cool to see this pic.

Anyway, here is the Stalker 2 map: https://i.redd.it/mj3fm9jguegx.jpg. This is the translated version, this shows all of the locations of story missions. This gives an idea of the size of the map. The forum thread also has a download that contains some media related to Stalker. Download this here: https://mega.nz/file/Eg4SUAQD#lpd7eD03NwLvTqsXVEDyI9a8Vx2jv7qL3MFg5QGTTno. This contains a few PDFs of gaming magazines that are talking about Stalker Shadow of Chernobyl. This file contains some screenshots of the Stalker early builds. This would be nice for reference. I do hope that Stalker 2 takes inspiration from the early build ideas to create a nice new map that is suitable creepy and scary enough to be the zone. Narodnaya Solyanka creates a nice atmosphere. There are a few collector stashes around the zone. This requires a lot of searching to find them. There are sheets of paper that give clues to the location of the stashes and then the player must follow the clues to the location. They can yield some interesting stuff as well, considering that it is early in the game and the player can get some ammo and gloves, early in the game, this provides a welcome boost.

Later on in the game, namely X-18, it gets very hard, and the player needs everything they can get. So finding all possible stashes could yield some interesting stuff. That is what makes a nice Stalker mod. A lot of interesting stashes that the player can find. Any new Stalker game set after the events of Stalker Call of Pripyat should have a lot of stashes and interesting stuff laying around.

Here is yet another file. This contains a lot of build Stalker information and sketches concerning the early builds of the original Stalker games. Very interesting stuff to look through.

Anyway, this is the Reddit thread. It has some very interesting information about the old stalker 2 concept and areas.
