Australian MyGov website gets more users and crashes under the strain.

The Australian my.gov.au website has gone down under the increased usage due to the Coronavirus epidemic and the increased demand for social welfare services. This is a joke. The Department of Human Services cannot even keep this website running and were blaming a Cyberattack at one point, but it was not that, it is just increased demand. But the government websites are not properly distributed and do not have redundancy that could kick in at times of greatly increased demand. This was not done. And I bet they want everyone to stay at home and use online services instead of visiting the office in person, which might be dangerous, but with proper diet, you can stay immune and not worry about the virus. Still, it is becoming an excuse to shut everything and lock everyone inside all day. That is why social welfare is needed, but the online portal does not work, so lodging documentation is not going to be a worthwhile enterprise. Ringing up would not work either, it might require an 8-hour wait. But why did the government not prepare for this and bolster the Information Technology infrastructure before this happened? Why not?

My.Gov is a useless website.
My.Gov is a useless website.

The Australian government is completely useless at everything they do. Blaming someone else for your own failings. They cannot run anything worthwhile at all. Greater spending on Information Technology infrastructure is needed, we have a faster National Broadband Network now, but we need better government IT frameworks in place to future-proof our country. There will be more and more demand upon Internet websites that serve the public such as my.gov.au, since it is for Medicare as well. So, it needs to always be accessible. There is no excuse for idiotic website downtime like this. It should be back up in a few days, as the services are restored, but it should not have gone down, to begin with. This shows how useless the government is right now. They cannot even keep a website running in this day and age. The whole website will not work, it just shows an error page instead of the login form. so this is a horrible joke. If you are told to go online, and you cannot due to the downtime, and ringing a call center will not work, then you have no hope, do you?

Then you will have to go outside and visit in person, but then they will tell you to go online, and it goes around in a circle.
