Official Helicopters are now in the Arma Reforger Experimental build. The controls for PC are the same almost as the Arma 3 helicopters. There is also a BTR0-60 for the FIA faction. This is an amazing update, maybe the game could be redeemed if they fixed the constant connection timeouts and internal errors.
A BTR for the FIA faction means that the independent faction vehicles could be captured and used. This will add a new dimension to Conflict games.
Press and hold R to start the engine. Press Shift to raise the collective. Then use the mouse to steer the craft. The helicopters are very floaty when steering side to side, but the controls are very nice. It was better than the modded helis where you had to use the WSAD keys to steer the aircraft. I am sure on consoles flying them would be fine, but it would require concentration. But just like reality, this is the way it is. They should not compromise realism for the sake of console players. They have auto-hover, which is not even realistic. This is OK I guess, players use this as a speed brake and then get shot out of the sky while hovering in place. But the MI-8 craft is fast when flying, and it does land just fine, I just need more practice with the slightly different controls in Arma Reforger. But overall, this is a very interesting update.
The devs have even added a refuelling option, parking a vehicle and then looking at the fuel cap allows refuelling. This is much needed considering a vehicle is useless when it runs out of gas. I can not find the fuel cap on the BTR yet though.
