Samsung Galaxy fold units are breaking after one day of use.

The new Samsung Galaxy fold mobile phones are breaking after one day of use, this is due to the fold in the middle of the screen. Sometimes, half the screen works and the other half does not. This is a damaging result for the company, but why would you have a fold in the middle of the screen anyway? It is prone to failure. Why not just have a bigger one piece screen and just release a iPad styled device instead? That would work a lot better. There must be very fine ribbon cables joining each side of the mobile telephone to each other and they are failing due to the flexing. I do not think the technology is mature enough yet. Why not have roll up screens instead? But a standard sized Galaxy S8 has a big enough screen to read everything, so you do not need a stupid folding screen that is so prone to failure. They are better off recalling the units and refunding everyone. And you do not peel the plastic layer off the screen, it is there to protect it and just ripping it off is a bad idea.

Although, it does start bubbling after a while like cheap window tinting, this is a demonstration of the cheap low quality application of the coating. Why not have a joint in the middle of the screen coating? This has not gone well for Samsung, all their high hopes of revealing a flip `phone with a bigger screen that can be folded in the middle like a book, and it does not work well. Of course, a plastic film coating will not cope well with constant flexing, it will bubble and come apart eventually. The company should have invested more research into alternative coatings that could have protected the screen. But the joint in the middle is the screen as well, this would make it difficult to manage the integrity of the LCD screen when it is moving like this, they are not meant to be manipulated this way. But for so many review units to fail at once, it is embarrassing for the company. I hope they can work something else out to alleviate this situation. As the bad publicity will not help them out at all. This required more testing before public release.

Here is a video example of what is happening to the units. The screen in this one is flickering when it is moved, this shows that the connections are intermittent from one half to another. A sign of low quality of manufacture. That is what you get when a `phone is made in China by low paid workers in slave-labour conditions. They need to lift their game in terms of technology and innovation. I guess there are other ways to join the screen, maybe have a small line down the middle, this would not be the end of the world, and have two separate screens, that could have messages on one screen, and browser on the other. That would be fine, advertise it as a dual screen telephone and not a stupid single flexing screen, that is not meant to flex in the first place. This was a stupid idea, and needs more work before Samsung attempt this again. Why not just release a nice big iPad styled tablet for Samsung fans? That would be just fine. And it could have a nice large high resolution screen.
